He’s changed in ways that allow him to be the man she needs and vice versa. And so, we felt this was a perfect way to realize their destiny. We’ve never lost the feeling between them. SCHNEIDER | We’ve always said that these two love each other despite the problems that they’ve had in their relationship, and her going off to go to nurse practitioner school. TVLINE | How did you know that April and Ethan were an endgame couple? What about them, for you, said, “We have to have these two end up together”? SCHNEIDER | We’re in the writers’ room discussing that.įROLOV | There’s logistics involved in those decisions as well, what the actors are doing. TVLINE | Has there been any talk about seeing them season, especially since Brian’s coming back to direct an episode later in the season? Might he also show up on screen? We would love to see them from time to time in their new life. He hasn’t left Chicago, and they will have patients that may need to come into the hospital. SCHNEIDER |We wanted to leave the possibility that he and April could return. Was it important for you that Ethan go out on a positive? Every time we think the nurses at Chicago Med can’t impress us more, they turn around and do something incredible.TVLINE | We’ve seen a lot of characters exit Med over the years, sometimes under very intense, dramatic scenarios, and this one is such a happy one. But as always, Maggie and April took the necessary steps to reassure and comfort Monique in her time of need. Not only did she blame herself for April getting shot, but she also blamed herself for Dennis having the attitude he did about women. With everyone being concerned about April because of getting shot and wondering what would happen to Dennis, Monique was silently suffering. It’s time for them to just have their happiness as they deserve. This relationship has been through hell a few times over. The anger, the sadness, the happiness of being together once again. The reunion between Will and Nat was something we needed to see. So he definitely has some making up to do. Not that we don’t love him, but he made a lot of mistakes when it came to working with the police. But we were definitely hoping she was saving a little of that anger for Will when he got home. Her sharp tongue and the way she absolutely handles any and all situations are just a few of the many reasons why we love her so much. She’s never taken nonsense before, especially when it concerned Will. Natalie had every right to be pissed off and we were living for it. Someone tell us again that these two are over because we aren’t seeing it. Plus, it was beautiful to see Ethan so worried about April and have absolutely no sympathy for the asshole that shot her. But we also have to give April some major credit for being a complete badass when shots were fired. We hate that Ethan and April are still not doing so well, but we do understand why their relationship seemed to fall apart. Together is when they operate at their best and this episode just showcased that. Which is part of why we think the two of them are such a perfect team. But she does have the brains and thought process to achieve the best results. ![]() Ava does seem to block out any and all emotions when it comes to her patients. Connor will do anything for a patient no matter the consequences. Image via NBCīut one thing that can’t be denied about Connor and Ava is how well they do their jobs. But they have always said that opposites attract and we definitely think that’s the case with these two. Even when they’re not being so nice about the other one’s decisions. ![]() Their chemistry is amazing and regardless of the nonsense they both partake in at times, they truly do make each other better. But we hope it only results in a short break and the two being back better than ever. We know the truth will come out and probably result in them being torn apart. So let’s discuss! Then there was Ethan trying to deal with both the man who shot April and his feelings that still seem to be there. Between April getting shot, Will making his return from witness protection and Ava’s secret almost being exposed, this was quite the journey of an episode. ![]()
